Types of Dance Competitions

Dance competitions are some different ways you can use your new found skills, once you have learned to dance.

You can, of course, go to dance clubs and meet people to dance with socially .

This way you can meet new people and enjoy yourself.

You can also arrange parties in your home and invite your friends over for dances.

This is a great way to catch up with friends and have some fun. Another great way to show off your skills is to enter competitions.

There are many different types of competitions to choose from if you are ready to take this step.

Ballroom dancing is probably the most popular type of competitions worldwide.

If you have taken lessons in ballroom dancing and want to try your hand at dance competitions, you will likely to find one somewhere in your neighborhood. Many of these dance competitions have a class for beginners, so don't be shy about signing up!

Once you have entered a ballroom competition and had some success with it, you can move on to regional and national competitions. You may even find yourself competing internationally!

How exciting is that? Many local clubs and community centers also offer salsa dancing competitions.

Salsa is another very popular dancing style and if you have learned it, there are many opportunities out there for competition.

Salsa is such a fun and energetic dance that competitions are super fun! Both ballroom and salsa dancing require a partner in order to compete. If you don't have a partner or prefer to compete alone, there are options out there for you. Check out your local nightclub for hip hop competitions.

There are a lot of them out there and they are a great way to both show off and hone your new found skills.
If you have entered a whole lot of amateur dance competitions and done well, you can aim even higher and check out the television dance competitions.

" SoYouThinkYouCanDance "

is one of the more popular ones as it attracts millions of viewers every season.

" America's Got Talent ", the UK's "Got Talent" and " Dancing With The Stars " are also options.

These shows feature all different kinds of performers, but there are a lot of dancers who enter.

Once you've taken lessons and tried your hand at dance competitions, you have nothing to lose by sending an audition tape to one of the TV shows.

If you are just starting out with dancing and want to try something competitive but casual, think about hosting your own dance competition.

It's a great way for a bunch of friends to have fun together, and it may inspire some of your friends to take dance lessons as well. Make some sort of fun prize or funny trophy and elect a panel of judges and have some fun with it! Entering a dance competition will motivate you to practice hard and work on your skills.

It is also a great way to meet new people who share a common interest.

Even if you don't win, just the act of getting out there and doing it should make you feel good about yourself and give your self esteem a boost. Dance is so rewarding in so many ways, and competitions are a great example of this.
